Excerpt from Day 4, Seven Days

This clip is taken from Day 4 of Seven Days, an ongoing animated film collaboration with composer Matthew Sear.

For this project, a series of hand-painted works was produced using mineral pigment, PVA and silver leaf on washi paper. These paintings were then developed into animations using Adobe After Effects.

Each animated piece is paired with an original musical composition by Matthew Sear. The seven animations are intended to sit together as a short film, with each section corresponding to a day in the creation sequence.

The work brings together hand painting, digital animation and sound. Painted surfaces are treated as moving space rather than static images, with motion and timing shaped in relation to the music.
